This is how it all started – with a 2 channel Hi-Fi system in one room. Still our core business after three and a half decades.
In the 1970s and 80s, two companies manufactured the best turntables; a handful of amplifier manufacturers stood out from the crowd; all the best loudspeakers, ranging from entry level to state of the art, were produced by a few small specialist companies.
Nowadays it seems that everyone makes everything. Are they all equally good but somehow different? Actually no…they’re not.
One standard
Before we ever recommend a particular piece of equipment, we consider:
- Is it better at faithfully reproducing recordings of music than all of its competitors?
- Is it well engineered and will it continue to deliver a high level of performance year after year?
- Is the manufacturer likely to be around for the foreseeable future to provide technical back up and service
- In short, does it represent the best value for money available?
We believe these considerations apply as much to items in a first-time, entry level system as they do to our state of the art, no expense spared systems that deliver the ultimate attainable performance.
